A Green Thumbprint on a Smudge of a City- A Walking Guide to Castle Park Bristol £5.00
From the back cover:
"Castle Park in Bristol marks the centre of the old city, and includes the sites of the Saxon and Norman castles, and the ruins of two medieaval churches. It was home to some of the city's wealthiest merchants and the first Georgian terrace. Some industries such as tobacco and porcelain manufacure began here, as did the country's first centralised por house. For over 200 years it was a major shopping and entertainment area, but war damage triggered plans for its redevelopment which dragged on for decades until 1988 when the present park was opened. In 2006 a battle was won to prevent part of the park being built upon to pay for its own improvements. This book describes a circuit fo the park, including major features and their history."

Bristol Gyratory - A Quirky Circuit Walk £6.99
This is the first of a series of family friendly, largely off road circuit walks. The central map allows the walk to be joined at any point as questions as you are led round the inner city by following questions which encourage you to look up, down and all about you to discover little known sights.
Recommended by a local scout leader for doing her job for her. She said her scouts found the maps and directions easy to follow and gave a fascinating insight into their own area.

From Cat to Cathedral - Bristol's Religious Heritage £4.50
This book takes a meandering route round central Bristol from St Mary Redcliffe to the Cathedral, visiting a wide range of religious sites including ancient monuments, pioneering non conformist chapels, a synagogue and other important but little known sites. Most can be visited outside of their normal opening hours, but visiting sites such as Wesley's New Room will, of course, add interest and time to the walk.
This walk was tested on the local Ramblers group who thoroughly enjoyed it and became totally confused as to where they were. Each site is accompanied with a clear hand drawn map.

The Bristol Slavery and Abolition Trail £4.00
This book was produced to celebrate the 2009 bicentenary of the abolition of the slave trade in Britain. Unlike other publications, it makes no attempt to name and shame dead Bristolians, but describes many aspects of slavery and abolition and puts them into the context of the time.
This walk follows a circuit around the inner city of Bristol, visiting sites connected with slavery, abolition, colonial exploration and human rights campaigners.
Recommended for anyone tired of the heavily subsidised popular local sport of bashing dead Bristolians. See also my book "Eyebrows on Fire - Bristol and Abolition" whic features some local abolition heroes, on "sitting books" page

Walking History - 13 Fascinating Walks in Central Bristol £5.00
This selection of walks is the perfect antidote to walking books. It is a series of 13 walks which cover the central area of the city, and venture into the wilds of the south and the heights of Clifton to the west. They are of varying length and difficulty, and each one can be done alone or they can be joined up in various combinations depending on interest, ability or time. This is why they are not bound together in a book. Feel free to play with them in different combinations.
Where possible they are off road. Details are provided of public transport access, and accessibility.
As with all other publications by this author, they contain information that cannot be found elsewhere.
Ideal for locals wanting to know more about their city, for tourists, or as an alternative to ambling round the harbour after Sunday lunch.
ISBN NO. 978-09551010-0-7
